Oh, poop!
While watching Despicable Me, one of the characters exclaimed "Oh, poop!". Alex immediately laughed, then looked me in the eye and informed me "poop" is NOT a Building Blocks word.

Muffins = Love
Alex woke me up this morning asking for muffins. It goes without saying that the muffins he wants are banana chocolate chip. So, after I finally pried myself out of bed (bless my dear hubby for letting me sleep in) and had a little caffeine, we set to work making muffins. Stan asked when this tradition started, and it made us wonder just how many batches of this particular muffins I've made now... Alex was about 2 (ask him why Mommy makes muffins and he'll tell you "it's because she loves me very much"). And though we have gone a week here and there without a batch, there have been other weeks with multiple batches. Stan guesses it's round about 200 batches now. No wonder I make them without a recipe, I'm on auto pilot.
But I do make them because I love my boys very much. (Really. I grew tired of eating them about 100 batches ago...)

I'm not 5
So, it's a snow day here. The snow is deep, the sun is bright. It's a good day.
Alex and I are watching MythBusters, the one about the exploding jawbreaker candy... they've tried everything, then decide to just blow it up, like it had been tampered with by "a 5 year old evil genius". I took the opportunity to ask Alex - are you a 5 year old evil genius?
His response? "I'm not 5."
Hahahaha. So funny. I told him that was a good answer.

Conversations from the back seat
"Our house is as big as a squid. But a squid is a little longer. Remember snakes are the biggest worms. Snakes are giant worms. Snakes are really bad. And they have bones. Like us. Some of our food has bones. Like chickens. When you put a chicken over steam you cook it and it turns into a turkey and when it hits the ground it says Gobble-Gobble and turns back into a chicken. "
Close enough.
