Thanks Auntie Valerie for my birthday presents! They've been on all sorts of adventures around our livingroom. (helium) balloon rides and trips across puzzles, and riding in dump trucks! Whee!

Watching MMCH with Mickey & Minnie & Donald & Pluto & Goofy & Daisy... I turned the show on & he had to go collect all the crew members! They're sitting on the table next to us. "my friends"

Curious George Goes Ice Skating
Well, sorta... That would be a Curious George rubber stamp being dredged thru a lump of playdoh. It leaves these (annoying) trails of playdoh behind and Alex says it's ice skating. So funny. We started just stamping in the playdoh, which was fun, but he spends lots of time "skating" now too. It's good he can play by himself, especially while I'm making more of his favorite banana muffins! :) I love Saturday morning.

An Oldie But A Goodie
This picture is an old one, but fun. Alex seems to have had a bit of a rough day... So photo taking was not working! He was happy enough when I picked him up from school but quickly deteriorated. Poor kid. Our best guess is that he's growing again (at least that's what the muscles in my back are telling me!) He also slept in this morning and fell asleep in the car on the way home - that is extremely unusual! Maybe that's jusy what PB pretzels do for you? :)
We are now watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and drinking milk and all is well in our world!
And tomorrow is Friday! I think we are all glad about that!

Grampa Night
Tuesday nights are Alex's night with Grampa. They have lots of fun together! Alex found pocket change and wanted Grampa's help with his piggy bank. Alex dumped the entire contents on the ground between them and made the funniest face when Grampa picked it all up, thanked Alex for it and started to put it in his pocket!! It was really funny! Hooray for Tuesday nights with Grampa!
(hooray for Mommy & Daddy having a night with friends at small group too)

My Alex
At church we use a check in/out system where I write Alex on two name tags, each with a matching number reference. I wear one, he wears one. If I need to be called out of church, they display the number on the big screen. Alex knows the routine and informs me as we turn into the parking lot "I go play at church with my green sticker on my back" I usually stick mine on my leg, since I don't really want people thinking my name is Alex... (and it's lime green and doesn't match a thing I own!). Today after church I checked him out and he soon after took the sticker off my leg and put it on his! Funny boy!

messes are fun
alex loves punching these shapes out of a one-a-day calendar val gave me in 2006... alex enjoys getting out as many as i let him get away with and spreading them all over the floor and tossing them in the air to watch them flutter down. i thought the paci in the background was funny. We were having a good time.

My friend Molly
Our friends, Tim & Angie, have a doggie named Molly... She is a creamy color terrier mix and adorable as all getout! Well, Alex is smitten with her! Now, all puppies are "my friend Molly" this one at our house and a little blue one at Grammy & Grandpa's too. Stan & I are thinking we will be ready for a puppy this spring! :)
Christmas
We decided it was high time for a family picture... when better than Christmas Day? (since we were finally all in the same place for more than 5 minutes!)
Lindsay, Nate, Mom, Dad, Stan, Me
Granddad, Alex, Grandmother
We had a great Christmas! Dad got a smoker from Mom and smoked a turkey for dinner! It was amazing-super yummy and I'm not usually a big fan of smoked meat!! I got to put together Chrismas Brunch, eggnog french toast with apple-cranberry compote, a citrus salad, irish soda bread with dried montmorcery cherries, turkey sausage, and fresh berries! It was fabulous! I love cooking and had lots of fun putting the menu together.
Alex, of course, made out like a bandit! Granddad and GG gave him a real slate chalkboard - one that his Grammy used to play with when she was a little girl!
Auntie Valerie sent him tons of things, but the inflatable spaceman won the day!
Mr. "My Little Astronaut" is currently sitting in Alex's little red chair in the livingroom. He ate a piece of chalk, got piggy back rides from Alex and "blasted off" (but we had to stop that because it was more like he-whacked-into-mommy or daddy...).
And he got some neat new cars and trucks from Grammy & Grampa. They have buttons to press to make noise and when you pull them back and let them go they take off racing... lots of fun! There aren't pictures, but Grampa also made him a big set of blocks which he's been enjoying immensely!
So, we had lots of fun! And there really isn't much better than having your kiddo running around the house talking about "my baby Jesus". Makes my heart melt!
Hooray for Christmas!
